Volunteering at WWT London Wetland Centre

Join us for an exclusive volunteering day at WWT London!

WWT are the charity for wetlands and wildlife. On this volunteering day, you will be helping with real wetland conservation work and creating, enhancing and restoring wetlands for wildlife and people. Your conservation task will be part of essential reserve management that is done on an annual basis in order to maintain and enhance the biodiversity of the site.

You will be getting stuck into real wetland conservation work, helping to unlock the power of wetlands – and help nature burst back to life. Winter is a brilliant time to visit the reserve, The London Wetland Centre has become one of the best places to spot bitterns, one of the UK’s rarest breeding birds!

Your itinerary for the day will look something like this:

09:30 - Arrive at WWT wetland centre.

10:00 - Explore the centre on a guided walk.

11:00 - Proceed to activity area and take part in conservation activity.

13:00 - Lunch (please bring a packed lunch).

14:00 - Return to activity area to continue conservation activity.

15:30 - Round up, then free time to explore the reserve or head home  

Please note:

-Available to CSSC members only

- Conservation activities are be subject to change due to the weather, environmental considerations and reserve priorities. Please come prepared in outdoor clothes suitable for the weather and temperature, and outdoor footwear that you don't mind getting wet, muddy or paint splattered (walking boots, wellies or old trainers are all suitable unless otherwise advised).

-Please let us know about any accessibility requirements in advance, as most tasks on the reserves require physical labour and we will need to plan ahead and make adjustment.
