National | Scotland Isle of Mull - Hill Walking week

About the event

If you fancy getting away from it all then this walking week set in the dramatic countryside of the Isle of Mull is just for you! You will be part of a select group of 18 similarly minded freedom and adventure seekers accommodated in the self-catering Arle Lodge which is situated 5 miles south of the picturesque town of Tobermory. Arle Lodge is an ideal base from which to explore this beautiful Scottish island.

Whether you are seeking high octane adventure scaling near vertical cliff faces, conquering mountain peaks during exerting all day walking expeditions, stretching your legs on moderate costal and low level walks or just recalibrating the mind and soul in the atmospheric and exhilarating Scottish rural outdoors we aim to meet everyone's needs.

Meals will be on a self-catering, communal meals basis, overseen by qualified CSSC volunteers who have previous experience of catering for groups. With prior notification all specific dietary requirements will be catered for example; vegetarian, celiac etc.

Activities available

Accommodation comprises a mix of 3 and 4 bedded rooms with a limited option for twin bedded rooms for a £70 supplement.

All activities will be run under the watchful eye of qualified instructors who will be on hand throughout the week to answer all your questions and ensure you have the very best experience whether you are a novice or experienced outdoors adventurer.

What is included

The fun starts on arrival on Saturday afternoon when you can check in and settle into your room. You are then free to explore and meet fellow guests arriving for the week. We then get together over dinner where participants can familiarise themselves with the activities on offer and fellow guests for the week.

Breakfast and dinner will be served each day at 8.30am and 6.30pm respectively. However, some flexibility will be required depending on groups activities and anticipated finish time.

Walks will usually set off promptly after breakfast

Departure by 10am on the final day.

Please note - Hill walking and other events are classed as adventurous activities which carry a certain level of risk. Whilst all activities undertaken during this week have been rigorously risk assessed and all mitigating measures put in place to reduce risks to the absolute minimum, participants are still reminded that they ultimately take part at their own risk.

A medical form must be completed and emailed to the organiser before the event.

As we will be all of one company occupying Arle Lodge a degree of the "Many hands make light work." ethos will be encouraged at times to ensure all domestic tasks are not left to one or two CSSC volunteers. Please ask for additional explanation if unclear about this point.
