Member Benefits Local Offers Sports & Leisure Volunteering

Active Wellbeing Lunchtime walk | North West Region

Are you are taking part in Active Wellbeing in 2024 or haven't decided yet? Why not join us for a lunchtime walk to help you get some extra steps in! This route will involve walking the 3km/2 mile route around Jumbles Country Park which takes just under an hour (pending walking speed).

We wanted to offer this lunchtime walk to all CSSC members (children and dogs also welcome & it is also half term so also a great opportunity to get the kids out of the house for a bit and burn off some of that energy!). If you work from home and fancy joining us for some fresh air, or you are retired and would like to get involved, please book now to avoid disappointment. This path is rural and so please do expect uneven ground and some puddles if weather conditions are poor. Please wear appropriate footwear (wellington boots, walking boots, waterproof shoes).

Please let us know if you have any questions about taking part.

Meeting location

Please meet at Jumbles car park (postcode BL2 4JS) The walk will commence promptly at 12.30pm so please make sure you allow yourself plenty of time to get to the park and time to find a space

Why should you go?

Enjoy meeting new friends and sharing experiences of walking in the North West countryside. The pace is set by the slowest team member and respect is given to varying levels of experience and capabilities in the group. We use a qualified walk leader to guide the walk. If you are interested in finding out more about how to become a qualified walk leader, please don’t hesitate to get in touch. There is a cafe by the meeting point by the car park and so we will also stop here for refreshments if the cafe is open.

What should you bring?

Bottle of water or drink. Snacks or lunch if you plan to eat on route. Please wear suitable footwear for walking appropriate to the weather (welly's/walking boots/walking trainers)Waterproofs advised.
