Member Benefits Local Offers Sports & Leisure Volunteering

Walk & Wedgwood Museum | Stoke on Trent

This is a free event but spaces are limited so book early to avoid disappointment.

This year the Midlands region are trying to get members active for free by asking the event volunteers to organise a range of walks, from the Malvern hills to the city centre of Birmingham we want you to join us enjoying a walk and a friendly chat. Keep you eye on the CSSC website for more walks within the Midland region.

This event consists of a 6 mile walk from the Wedgwood Factory and then two optional additional offerings to make a full day of your time in Wedgwood.

The walk is across varied terrain including pavements, grass verges, small sections of roads, a level crossing, by a canal, woodland area and gravel. There are steps involved in this walk to access the canal towpath. The canal towpath and forest paths are decent compacted earth and rubble/stone pathways.

Optional Activities

1) 1pm Wedgwood tea rooms - Lunch or tea and cake (NOT INCLUDED IN PRICE)

I will be booking a table to have some refreshments after the walk and you are all welcome to join me. I will need to know rough numbers to reserve a big enough table, so let me know.

You could bring your own picnic and find a suitable place to eat it if you don't want to buy lunch. There is a forest area run by Staffordshire Wildlife Trust near by and there is also Wedgwood lake.

Book by 18th April, so a table can be booked.

2) V&A Wedgwood collection - Self guided tour

After lunch the walk leader will be going into the museum to look at the V&A Wedgwood collection.

The museum is free of charge and you are welcome to join the unguided tour. The museum is open until 5pm and you are welcome to stay as long as you like. Please book, so I can let the museum know numbers.
