Grafham Water lunchtime walk

Are you local to Grafham water? Then why not join us for a lunchtime walk to help you get some extra steps in during your day and get some fresh air on your lunch break!

This route will involve walking a 3.4km/2.16miles route that covers part way round the water, which takes just under an hour. The route includes walking along grassy paths, tracks, wooded areas, beaches and rural footpaths. Pending the needs of the walkers, there is an option to extend the route by 2.5km/1.53miles which would total the route at 5.9km/3.69miles and takes around 1hr 15minutes (pending walking speed). We can make the decision on the day as to what the group would prefer. Please note we wont be walking the full perimeter of the lake, as this would take a lot longer than a lunch break!

We wanted to offer this lunchtime walk to all CSSC members (children and dogs also welcome!). If you work from home and fancy joining us for some fresh air, or you are retired and would like to get involved, please book now to avoid disappointment.

This walk is suitable for anyone who does not have a mobility difficulty or a specific health problem that may affect participation. The route will be unsuitable for pushchairs due to the type of paths we will be using, a carrier would be best. The footpaths can be a bit boggy or muddy and may have some big puddles if there has been some rain. There are also some uneven surfaces to consider when coming off the beach, following the rural paths through the woods and fields. Please let us know if you have any questions about taking part.

Please meet outside the entrance to the Visitor Centre, by the flag and sign at 12pm and be ready to start walking at 12.15pm. Look out for your leader who will be wearing a purple CSSC cap!
