What dances are taught?

Tuition is given in two principal disciplines: Ballroom and Latin American. The Ballroom section includes Slow Waltz, Viennese Waltz, Quickstep, Foxtrot and Tango. The Latin American dances include Cha-Cha-Cha, Rumba, Jive, Rock and Roll, Swing, Paso Doble and Samba.

Do I need to bring a partner?

If you come with a partner, that is fine. Otherwise, single men and women attend and they partner each other in the classes.

What happens if there are more ladies than men or vice versa?

Everyone is mixed in by changing partners.

Do I need special dance shoes?

To start with, a normal pair of smooth-soled shoes will be fine. But shoes with a rubber tread should be avoided as these will act like a brake when dancing.

Is there a dress code?

Most people come to the class from work in their same office clothes, but with some changing into something looser, and this seems to work well in the class. But any clothing that is comfortable and does not restrict your movement will be fine. Ladies seem to be equally happy either in trousers or a looser skirt.

Who will teach me?

The classes are taught by professional dancers and experienced tutors.
