Do you have a love for walking and a passion to get others involved? Then this could be just the thing for you!
We are looking to provide a 1-day Volunteer Walk Leaders course with Living Streets. This course is for members who are enthusiastic about getting people together and leading group walks within the London Region (inside the M25).
The one day training course will help give you the knowledge and confidence to provide great led walks for your CSSC community or workplace.
The course will cover:
How to choose and plan a suitable route that is interesting and attractive
How to ensure the route is safe and comfortable for your walking group
The risk assessment process
Practical tips for the walk
Things to remember after the walk
Included will be all training materials, refreshments throughout the day and a light lunch
The day will includes a 45 minute training walk
To express an interest in attending this course, click book now and complete the fields when prompted via the checkout.
Please note, this does not automatically reserve you a space on a course, but it will help us gauge interest throughout various locations. Jennifer Yarrow, Volunteer Team Leader will be in touch after the closing date.
The course will be free of charge, however, there are some expectation of learners:
You must agree to become a CSSC Volunteer Walk Leader
We expect that you would be willing to organise and lead at least three walks annually. These must be open to CSSC members or a specific workplace and follow CSSC event organisation policy, processes and procedures
