To celebrate The Big Help Out, please join us for a litter pick around the Wye River and/or Hughenden Park in High Wycombe.
We will decided on the day which route to take, pending the level of litter at the time. Hughenden Park is a local beauty spot, popular with locals and visitors from further afield alike.
Due to the popularity, especially during breaks like Summer and Easter holidays it can collect a lot of waste and rubbish. So, this is the perfect time to help the local community and collect as much rubbish as possible.
Please join us
Please book your free space so we know who to expect on the day.
We will provide all the equipment including grabbers and bin bags.
All you’ll need to bring with you is some sensible walking shoes/boots, suitable, weather-appropriate clothing and a drink.
Depending on the numbers, we will split into teams of up to four people and collect as much rubbish as safely possible.
What do you need to know
We will be meeting at CSSC Sports & Leisure Head Office which is at Compton Court, 20-24 Temple End, High Wycombe, Buckinghamshire, HP13 5DR at 12pm.
Please bring along a drink with you, as no refreshments will be provided.
The council will be providing equipment and removing any collected refuse on the day.
Hughenden Park is of mostly flat elevation, but there may be some travel over uneven grounds and possibly lightly damp terrain along the river.
The litter pick will be following a 1-mile circular route and is expected to take between one hour to an hour and a half, please note this time is estimated and could be longer or shorter than predicted, you do not have to stay for the duration of the event. Similarly if you want to join us a bit later on, please let us know upon booking so we can let you know where to find us.
The route will be dependent on weather conditions and litter and will be subject to change, the meeting point will remain the same.
There is free car parking at Hughenden Park, however we encourage all participants to walk, where possible.
High Wycombe Train station is a gentle 20-minute walk away and local busses or taxis regularly service the route.
