Do you have a love for walking and a passion to get others involved? Then this could be just the thing for you!
CSSC Eastern Region have teamed up with Living Streets to provide this one day training course to help give you the knowledge and confidence to provide great led walks for your CSSC community or workplace.
It covers good practice guidance and ideas on:
How to choose and plan a suitable route that is interesting and attractive
How to ensure the route is safe and comfortable for your walking group
The risk assessment process
Practical tips for the walk
Things to remember after the walk
Included is:
All training materials
Refreshments (tea/coffee/biscuits) throughout the day
The course is free of charge, however, there are some expectation of learners:
You must agree to become a CSSC Volunteer Walk Leader
We expect that you would be willing to organise and lead at least three walks annually. These must be open to CSSC members or a specific workplace and follow CSSC event organisation policy, processes and procedures
Please note:
You are able to only book one place per CSSC member and registrations will be open until 11.30am on 4th October 2024
The day includes a 45 minute training walk so please ensure you have suitable clothing and footwear
There is a kitchen on site, please bring along a packed lunch with you. Unfortunately there is no fridge on site so it may be best to bring a cool box / lunchbox if you have one.
Please arrive for 9.30am for a 10am start
The training is expected to finish around 4pm
If you can't make this date but are interested in joining us at a future event, please let us know by completing the guest list and letting us know what days of the week work for you. Please note a future training date may not be held in the Eastern Region.
