See South Shields connections with Arabs and Frenchmen, from Lawes to Leas.
The walk itself is easy, all gravel, grassy, paved or tarmac paths, with some steps. Some gentle slopes.
The distance is about 7 miles should be about 3 hours.
Bring a drink and picnic or maybe plan to finish with a meal in South Shields

Starting outside South Shields Metro station. The organiser, Tim, will be there to meet you in CSSC purple.
The walk will finish at the start, unless you leave to go for a meal.
11.00am - Start
The walk is expected to last about 3 hours.
Each CSSC Member may purchase one place using their CSSC membership number, plus one non-member ticket for a guest.
There are toilets during the first part of this walk through the parks, although we will pass many public houses.
Wear sensible walking trainers or shoes, this is mainly on hard surfaces.
Please be aware that this walk is volunteer led and that you are responsible for your own safety at all times including any accident insurance requirements.
