ILLUMINATE at Hestercombe Gardens (near Taunton, Somerset) will transport you on a magical journey of colour, light and sound to bring festive awe and wonder to the gardens.
The natural features and views of the Landscape Garden come to life at night, with spotlights, lit trees and coloured paths drawing you up towards the Great Cascade, down past beautiful dynamic fountains in the Pear Pond, below the Formal Garden, before finishing with a show-stopping display in front of Hestercombe House.

One discounted CSSC Member ticket per unique CSSC member. If membership numbers are duplicated your order will be cancelled to enable you to reorder the correct tickets or supply the correct information.
The organiser will provide details regarding the collection of your tickets nearer to the event date.
If you are likely to arrive late, please contact the organiser so they can notify the Visitor Reception, please note last entry is 8pm.
You must arrive at Hestercombe gardens Visitor Reception at the time and date on your booked ticket.
Infants under 2 years old do not require a ticket.
Well behaved dogs on a short lead are welcome.
The ILLUMINATE route is wheelchair-friendly, however if you are a wheelchair user and wish to visit ILLUMINATE, please contact the organiser if you have any questions before booking a ticket.
Please contact the organiser if you are registered disabled and require an essential companion (must be over the age of 18 and be willing and able to assist through the entire visit). You will need to supply the supporting documentation on arrival to Hestercombe (see full list of approved documents here) failure to do so will result in your companion not being permitted entry.
The Bampfylde Hall will be open for hot food, snacks, cakes and drinks throughout the evening including hot dogs, vegan hotdogs, festive turkey baps, mulled wine and hot chocolate. Please note this is at an additional cost.
The illuminated trail is self-led, following a clearly marked and lit route to help guide you around, but please bring a torch with you if you feel you will need extra lighting.
As this is an evening event, taking place after dark, you should ensure that you wear appropriate clothing and footwear, as there may be some slippery surfaces on your route, especially when wet.
Hestercombe Gardens have undertaken a full risk assessment and put adjustments in place to mitigate any risk, however you attend this event at your own risk, and Hestercombe cannot be held responsible for any injuries sustained whilst on site.
Hestercombe is not responsible or liable for garden closure or event cancellation due to events beyond our control (a ‘Force Majeure Event’). The organiser will notify you as soon as possible of a Force Majeure Event, so please provide a contact number in case this occurs - as your tickets may need to be transferred to a new date).
Hestercombe regularly observe the weather forecast to ensure the event can safely be experienced. If the weather should reach extreme levels, the event will be cancelled and this would be advertised on the Hestercombe website: Illuminate 2024 - Hestercombe. Refunds will only be offered where the event has been cancelled and not under any other circumstances.
